Longtime board chair at Sexual Assault Survivors' Centre retiring

The longtime board president at the Sexual Assault Survivors' Centre has decided to retire.

Georgette Parsons has served as chair for 25 years.

The centre said Parsons' passion for the agency has been exemplary and she will be missed.

"During her time with the board, Georgette was a part of significant movements within our sector," said board Vice Chair Eve Morgan Langille in a news release. "Her tireless advocacy, support and ongoing commitment, influenced growth and change for both the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Centre and community."

It's expected the board will choose a replacement by the end of October.
