The parking lot at Metro on London Road in Sarnia will be transformed into a drive-in movie theatre Friday and Saturday night.
Store manager Frank Scarpelli said they've given out free tickets to the screening of two movies each night, Jumanji: The Next Level at 8:30 p.m. and Knives Out at 10:30 p.m.
"We have a front of the line VIP section that's been reserved for our tireless employees, and local workers, like people from St. Joseph's Hospice that will be joining us as well, just to thank them for their hard work," said Scarpelli.
He said it has been very well received.
"The company reached out to me and asked what I thought, and I thought, are you kidding me, it's fantastic! This will be great! A lot of people are, with the whole COVID thing, a little setback and this is just something to boost morale as well."
The free event at 1375 London Rd. is sold out.
Metro has hosted similar drive-in events at other stores in Ontario.
