City gathering feedback on sidewalk snow removal

The city is looking for feedback on sidewalk snow removal.

Sarnia has 328 kilometres of sidewalk and currently maintains 168 kilometres.

Development and Transportation Manager Alister Brown said they're considering changes to that level of service.

"We currently maintain about half of the sidewalk within the city boundaries and we're looking at our alternatives for the remaining half," said Brown.

Residents are being asked if they think the city should increase, decrease or maintain the current level of service.

One of the scenarios is a bylaw revision that would require residents to maintain sidewalks adjacent to their properties.

A survey is posted until October 2.

Results will be presented to Sarnia City Council for consideration October 26.
