A novice driver was clocked travelling at 171 kilometres per hour on Highway 402 Thursday.
Middlesex OPP said the driver, who was in a company pick-up truck, also registered a three-day alcohol roadside warning.
The driver was charged and the vehicle impounded.
A driver with a G1 licence is not permitted to drive on the 400 series highways, must not drive alone and must not have been drinking alcohol.
