OHL announces key dates for return of Sarnia Sting hockey

The Ontario Hockey League has announced a number of key dates in advance of the upcoming season which is expected to get underway on December 1.

The league said training camps for teams, including the Sarnia Sting, will open on Sunday, November 15.

Preseason action kicks off on the weekends of November 20-22 and 27-29, and the regular season will conclude on April 29. The playoffs are set for May 2 to June 14.

The 2021 Memorial Cup is scheduled for June 17-27 and will be hosted by either the Oshawa Generals or the Soo Greyhounds.

There's also a February 10 trade deadline, with the OHL draft taking place May 8 and the U-18 draft on May 12.

In a news release Thursday, the league said it continues to work with government and health agencies to plan the safe return of hockey while also finalizing outstanding issues such as safe attendance at venues and cross border travel for teams.
