Major drug bust results in two arrests

Two Sarnia men are facing several charges following a drug bust that resulted in over $83,000 worth of fentanyl, crystal meth, and cocaine being seized by police.

The Sarnia Police Service said officers executed a search warrant at a home on Briarfield Avenue between Rosedale Avenue and Michigan Avenue on Wednesday evening, and also searched a storage unit on Confederation Street near Murphy Road.

Between the two locations, offices seized 156.87 grams of fentanyl with a street value of $78,435, 44.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine valued at $4,470, and 4.2 grams of cocaine valued at $504. A total of $360 in cash was also seized.

Gerald Vaughn George, 38, of Sarnia was arrested at the home and is now charged with possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) and breach of probation.

Raymond Robert Stanley Francis Hamilton, 35, of Sarnia was arrested during a traffic stop prior to the bust, and is now charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, and possession of a prohibited weapon (Taser).

Two children who were at the home at the time of the drug bust have since been placed in their mother’s care through the assistance of the Children’s Aid Society, police said.
