The closure of the Canada-US border has been extended by another month to September 21, 2020.
The announcement was made by Canadian Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair on Friday morning. Border restrictions were previously set to expire on August 21.
We are extending the reciprocal restrictions at the Canada-US border for another 30 days, till Sept. 21, 2020. We will continue to do what’s necessary to keep our communities safe.

Only essential travel has been allowed over the border since March 21 to limit the spread of COVID-19 between the two countries. The border restrictions have now been extended five times after being reviewed monthly by both countries.
