Shell donates face coverings to Bluewater Health

The Shell Sarnia Manufacturing Centre continues to support the local fight against COVID-19.

The Chemical Valley company is donating 18,270 face coverings to Bluewater Health.

Shell said the donation celebrates five years without a lost-time injury at their Sarnia facility -- that's 10 masks for every day without an LTI.

“Giving to the community is part of who we are at Shell," said General Manager Guy Hackwell in a release. "What better way to celebrate this safety milestone – evidence that we both individually and as a team continue to strive for safety excellence – than by meeting this need at our community hospital?”

To date, over 5,000 of the donated masks have been utilized by patients at Bluewater Health.

Earlier this month, Shell Canada donated $20,000 to Bluewater Health Foundation's COVID-19 fund.
