Sting swap defencemen with Hamilton

New Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca has made his first trade.

The club has acquired left-handed defenceman Cameron Supryka from the Hamilton Bulldogs in exchange for Colton Kammerer and a conditional eighth round draft pick in 2023.

Supryka, an 18-year-old Belleville native, has played in 110 OHL games with Hamilton and Peterborough, scoring four goals and adding 28 assists. Last season, he had three goals and 18 helpers in 53 contests.

Seca is happy to add a player like Supryka.

"Cameron is a player that as a group we have coveted for some time now," he said. "He is a great skater that shows good offensive upside. He had strong numbers from last season, and we feel he still has room to grow from there. He is a well-rounded defender and we are excited to add him to our lineup."

Kammerer was chosen in the third round of the 2017 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection and suited up in 148 OHL games for the Sting, recording 37 points.

"On behalf of the entire Sarnia Sting organization I would like to thank Colton for the effort and dedication he showed to our program these past three seasons in Sarnia," said Seca.

"He has been an excellent role model and leader for our club and this community. We wish him all the best as he becomes a member of the Bulldogs."
