Fentanyl, cash, replica gun seized in Sarnia drug bust

Sarnia police seized almost $100,000 worth of drugs and cash in the 100 block of East Street Thursday afternoon.

Cst. Nelson Amaral said Vice Unit officers executed a search warrant and vehicle search at around 5 p.m. and seized 143.52 grams of fentanyl worth nearly $72,000 and over $20,000 in cash.

A replica handgun and fake bullets were also seized.

Amaral said four people were arrested and charged.

Dallas Alexander Smith, 24, Matthew Waters, 33, Tamara Lee Schnarr, 60, all of Sarnia, and Deanis John Smith, 26, of Petrolia, each face a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Dallas Smith, Deanis Smith and Waters are also charged with multiple counts of breaching probation

Cst. Amaral said all four remained in custody awaiting bail hearings.
