Sarnia's Imperial Theatre extends pandemic shutdown

Sarnia's Imperial Theatre has extended its closure due to COVID-19.

Executive Director Brian Austin said he and the Theatre Sarnia board have made the decision to remain closed until May 4, unless otherwise stated.

Austin said their top priority is the safety and well-being of guests, staff and performers.

"I think right now we're up to about 26 shows that we're rescheduling," said Austin. "People have been great so far and really appreciative that we are making the calls to postpone the shows."

Austin said he hopes all of the events will be held at later dates.

"All previous tickets will be honoured and if they can not attend the make-up date they'll get a refund."

Austin said they've also suspended all other business under the Theatre Sarnia umbrella, including rehearsals, promotions, committee work and meetings.
