Sarnia's St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Inn of the Good Shepherd are the latest two organizations to benefit from United Way emergency grants.
The Sarnia-Lambton United Way has approved $5,000 each towards rent and utility programs and food banks.
Both the Inn and the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank and Help Centre have seen an increase in the number of residents seeking some type of assistance.
The Compassion Fund has provided a total of $35,000 to date to help agencies meet immediate and emerging community needs during the COVID-19 crisis.
