Confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton continued to rise Saturday.

Lambton Public Health's website was updated at 1 p.m. March 28 to show 10 confirmed cases in the community.

No details had been released about the 10th case.

The health unit said Friday that given the expectation that the number of COVID-19 cases in Lambton County will continue to increase, it will no longer be issuing media releases to announce each new case.

Bluewater Health was reporting Saturday afternoon that it had eight patients in hospital, four in ICU, and Lambton Public Health reported Friday there was a patient, from Lambton County, in Strathroy hospital with the virus.

Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said a 79-year-old individual who came into the Sarnia hospital three days ago was lab-confirmed Saturday as having COVID-19.
