Warwick Township sets up COVID-19 info hub

The Township of Warwick has set up an online COVID-19 hub to provide up-to-date information on municipal services and local businesses.

Mayor Jackie Rombouts said the more information people have at their fingertips, the calmer they're going to be.

"Our Home Hardware is taking orders online, so people can just drive up and open their trunk and have the product put in the back, as well our pharmacy is doing a similar thing and our grocery store," said Rombouts. "It's just minimizing the amount of contact that you have with people and the more we can minimize that, the better."

She said both McLaren Pharmacy and Watford Foodland have started taking orders and payments over the phone.

Both businesses have partnered with the township and members of Warwick council to deliver ordered goods to residents between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

"The more isolation we have at this beginning point in this illness the better. We don't want this to [spread] fast through our community. We want to make sure that everybody is able to receive the care that they deserve. We see what's happening overseas and we don't want that here."

The community is being asked to help ensure the information hub is up-to-date.

You can submit updates on local services and business offerings by contacting the township at 519-849-3926 or by emailing info@warwicktownship.ca
