St. Clair Child & Youth launches telephone consultation service

St. Clair Child and Youth Services is launching a telephone counselling and consultation service Monday.

Executive Director Sue Barnes said it's for those aged zero to 17 who are experiencing mental health concerns.

"As the lead agency for children's mental health in Sarnia-Lambton, we want to be there to offer assistance during this challenging time," Barnes said in a media release. "We recognize that this is a stressful time for families and their children. Fear and anxiety can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions that can be difficult to manage."

The phone service is being launched in conjunction with the agency's closure of its physical locations to the public as a COVID-19 pandemic precaution.

• Call (519) 337-3701 and follow directions to leave a voice message • The same day a staff member will contact you to collect information • Within 24 hours you will receive a Telephone Counselling & Consultation Session • Excludes evening and weekend

The public is encouraged to follow St. Clair Child & Youth's social media channels and visit the agency website for updated information about programs and services.
