Waterville TG to shutdown operations amid COVID-19 crisis

An automotive sealing company that has a plant in Petrolia is taking steps to protect its employees from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by shutting down operations.

Waterville TG Inc. announced on Friday that it would shut down all of the company's operations on Monday for a week. This includes the company's Petrolia location at 4491 Discovery Line.

“My management committee and I are not making corporate decisions anymore, but we are ensuring that each of our decisions assures the maximum protection of our employees and of the population,” said Waterville TG President Benoît Tétreault, in a news release.

The company said it intends to resume production on March 30.

“We are aware that this measure has significant financial impacts, and we are working to find alternatives to try to reduce the impact on our employees,” said Marie-Douce Pellerin, GM of human resources.
