Sting's McGregor signs ELC with Arizona Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes have signed Sarnia Sting captain Ryan McGregor to a three year entry level contract.

McGregor, 21, registered 27 goals and 41 assists for 68 points in 52 contests this season.

During his OHL career, the 6'0" tall, 168 lbs Burlington native recorded 90 goals and 138 assists for a total of 228 points. He had just 62 penalty minutes in 286 career OHL games, all with the Sting.

He's Sarnia's franchise leader in games played, and had six games remaining in his junior career before the season was abruptly cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also played in four games with the AHL's Toronto Marlies in 2018-2019.

McGregor was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round (172nd overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

He didn't sign a contract with the team.

Fellow Sting alumni Jakob Chychrun is also a member of the Coyotes.
