Significant damage at car dealership, woman charged with impaired

A 32-year-old Sarnia woman is charged with impaired driving after a vehicle caused significant damage early Sunday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., police said a vehicle travelling east on Ontario Street lost control, entered a parking lot, and went through a grass boulevard. It then crossed four lanes of traffic on Confederation Street and entered a car dealership in the 700 block where it collided with a wooden utility pole and seven parked cars.

The driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters where she allegedly blew over three times the legal limit.

She suffered no injuries in the collision, but a passenger was sent to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

The woman has been released on an undertaking.
