Legionnaires suffer another loss to London-Flags win against Amherstburg

It's another tough loss for the Sarnia Legionnaires, as the London Nationals extended their lead in the GOJHL playoffs with a 4-1 win in Game 3 on Saturday night.

London scored the first and only goal of the first period.

Nolan DeGurse scored Sarnia's only goal of the night in the second period with assists from Josh Barraclough and Ben Schoch.

Another goal from London in the second and two in the third secured yet another win for the first-place Nationals.

London now leads the best-of-seven series 3-0.

Sarnia goaltender Layton Draper made 34 saves out of 38 shots on net, while London's Brock Baier made 26 saves of 27 shots taken.

The two teams are back in action on Sunday night at Sarnia Arena. The game can be heard on CHOK. Puck drop is set for 7:10 p.m.

In the Provincial Junior Hockey League the Mooretown Flags defeated the visiting Amherstburg Admirals 5-1.

The Flags now lead the Stobbs Division semifinals three games to none.

Trevor Bogaert, Greg Hay, Cameron Rombouts, Brock Perry and Logan Gardiner scored for Mooretown.

Cole Welsh replied for the Admirals.

Jake Wilkins stopped 38 of 39 shots for the Flags while Nick Bolton and Aiden Pitre shared netminding duties for the Admirals stopping 49 of 54 shots.

Game four goes in Amherstburg Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
