New corporate services director to oversee various departments

Sarnia has hired a new director of corporate services.

David Logan has accepted the newly created position, which will oversee information technology, customer service, human resources, communications, public relations and emergency management.

“David has a proven track record of progressive, long term visioning and creating strategic partnerships through building consensus," said Chief Administrative Officer Chris Carter. "He thinks big picture which will be essential as he transforms a new team in corporate services. We look forward to David joining the city and providing effective solutions to the challenges we face."

Logan, who received a Master of Laws Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, a LL.B from Queen's University and an honours BA Degree from the University of Guelph, starts April 6.

He was the chief human resources officer with the Niagara Parks Commission.

Logan previously served as the vice president and chief human resources officer for the Wellington Health Care Alliance, senior director of labour relations with the Victorian Order of Nurses and president and CEO of the Health Employers Association of British Columbia.

He replaces Jim Crawford who was appointed to the position of human resources manager in January 2017 on a renewable contract.

Carter said Crawford has "fulfilled his contractual obligations" and he wishes him "well in his future endeavours."
