Significant snowfall expected for Sarnia-Lambton

Snowplows were busy across Sarnia-Lambton Wednesday as a low pressure system moved through the region.

Environment Canada says snow Wednesday will become heavier near midday, and continue through the afternoon before tapering to flurries overnight.

Meteorologist Gerald Cheng said we could see some significant snowfall.

"We expect five to 10 centimetres of snow especially in the afternoon hours with some gusty winds gusting up to 50 kilometres an hour," said Cheng. "Actually, the afternoon is going to be the worst time, even into the evening hours because the snow will continue. The snow will let up by around midnight, another two to four centimetres is possible."

Motorists are reminded to adjust your driving accordingly and slow down.

Low visibility may also be possible in heavy and blowing snow.
