OPP holding dementia registration days

Lambton OPP has teamed up with the Alzheimer's Society of Sarnia-Lambton to protect those living with dementia.

Statistics show that three in five people living with dementia will go missing at some point.

If missing for over 24 hours, half of them will suffer a significant injury or death.

Lambton OPP is holding two registration days this month to add people to the Vulnerable Persons Registry.

The first is on Saturday, February 15 at the Forest Ambulance Bay on King Street, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

If you know someone living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, bring a current photo and identification, which will be put into the registry in the event they go missing.

Another registration day is planned for Thursday, February 20 in Point Edward. It's on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in council chambers at the Kendall Street municipal office.
