Ticket sales soaring for expanded Dream Home Lottery

Ticket sales for the 25th annual Bluewater Health Dream Home Lottery are well ahead of last year.

Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander said the community response to the lottery, which features two dream homes, has been amazing.

"We have sold as many tickets as we ever have before in previous years, so if people from the community remember that we would sell 8,500 tickets each year, we've sold in excess of that so far, which is fabulous," she said. "Five years ago, we were selling around 3,500 tickets, so the growth behind the lottery and the response to it from our community has just always been so overwhelming."

Alexander recommends residents get their tickets before it's too late.

"If we sell out, we will be dancing in the street from Bluewater Health Foundation, but that's really not our expectation this year, we're really looking at ways to understand the growth and the response to this new format. We know that this format worked well in a lot of other communities and we see the success of it and we see the opportunity behind it to raise more money for Bluewater Health."

Tickets are $100 and are on sale online or in-person at the Sarnia and Petrolia hospital sites.

The 2nd prize home at 304 Sunset Crt. in Petrolia is valued at over $540,000 while the grand prize home on at 564 Franco Ave. in Sarnia is valued at over $668,000.

The grand draw is set for March 25.

Over the last 24 years, the lottery has raised over $7 million for Bluewater Health.
