An Ontario man wanted in connection with a murder and arson in North Dakota has been arrested at the Blue Water Bridge.

The Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that 41-year-old Earl Howard of Belwood, Ontario was arrested without incident at the border crossing in Port Huron on Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest for the murder of 42-year-old Chad Entzel.

During the evening of January 2, firefighters were called to a blaze at a home in Bismarck, North Dakota where Entzel’s body was discovered with a gunshot wound.

Entzel’s wife, 38-year-old Nikki Entzel, was arrested earlier this week in connection with the investigation and is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit arson. The warrant for Howard’s arrest was issued shortly after.

Howard is charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, arson, and conspiracy to commit arson. He has since been turned over to law enforcement officials from North Dakota.
