Sting edged by Knights in overtime

The Sarnia Sting (15-17-3-0) fell 4-3 in overtime to the visiting London Knights (20-12-1-1) in OHL hockey action on Sunday afternoon.

Brayden Guy, Ryan McGregor, and Jacob Perreault all scored for the Sting.

Sarnia led 1-0 after the first period before London tied the contest 1-1 early in the second. The teams exchanged quick goals for a 2-2 score after two.

The Knights pulled back ahead midway through the third, but McGregor scored with just 11 seconds left in the game to send it to overtime.

London's Billy Moskal sealed the victory just 45 seconds into the extra frame.

Luke Evangelista scored and added an assist for London, while Jonathan Gruden, and Ryan Merkley both had two helpers. Sahil Panwar scored his first goal of the season in his 32nd game.

Ethan Langevin made 23 saves on 27 shots in the Sting net, while London's Brett Brochu turned aside 27 of 30 shots.

The Sting are in last place in the tight Western Conference standings with 33 points. They're just nine back of the fourth-place Knights.

The two teams meet up for a rematch on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. in London.
