Picton Castle setting sail for South Pacific in 2020

One of the majestic vessels that were part of Sarnia's Tall Ships Celebration in August, is setting sail for the South Pacific in 2020.

The Picton Castle, out of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, had planned to sail to Europe and Africa but plans have since changed.

Spokesperson Trudi Inglis said there was a lot of interest shown during their visit to Sarnia and they're trying to spread the word about the new voyage.

The 55-metre, 180-foot long three-masted barque is best known for her adventurous voyages to exotic ports and islands around the world.

Anyone 18 and older can sign aboard as trainee crew members with no previous sailing experience required.

Applications are now open for the South Pacific voyage.
