Another NOVA heavy haul from Courtright Supply Dock planned

Another slow-moving heavy haul to NOVA Chemicals future Rokeby facility in St. Clair Township is scheduled to start at around 9 p.m. Sunday from the Courtright Supply Dock.

Three large columns will be transported in a convoy to the new polyethylene project site under the watchful eye of multiple police and utility escorts, spotters and other support personnel.

In a notification issued Friday, NOVA said the public can expect staggered road closures, slow-moving traffic and possible delays along the delivery route.

The route is from the supply dock, south on St. Clair Parkway to Courtright Line, east on Courtright Line to Highway 40, north on Highway 40 to Rokeby line, then east to the site at 804 Rokeby Line.

It's anticipated the delivery will be completed overnight with arrival possibly between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., but NOVA cautions the time and duration are approximate, and can be impacted by weather and other factors.

Hydro One will lift power lines along the route and staggered outages are expected for some residents and businesses for about two to three hours.

It's the second of two major deliveries to impact Courtright. NOVA said the supply dock is the best-fit location in the area to receive this type of equipment.

One more delivery to the dock is expected in the spring of 2020.
