Popular Christmas on the Farm event this weekend

Three to four thousand people are expected to visit the animal farm in Canatara Park this weekend.

City of Sarnia Recreation Coordinator Rachel Veilleux said they've partnered with the Seaway Kiwanis Club again, to present the annual Christmas on the Farm event.

"We've got chestnuts roasting on an open fire, horse and carriage rides, ice carving demonstrations, an opportunity to make crafts and decorate the Christmas trees, pick up a personalized cookie and much more," said Veilleux.

Veilleux said while the horse and carriage rides tend to be the most popular feature of the event, members of the Bluewater Chamber Choir will be singing Christmas carols at 7:15 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

"The entire event is free to attend and participate in all activities for all ages. The only exception is the barbecue provided by the Seaway Kiwanis Club. Prices for hot dogs, apple cider, hot chocolate and popcorn will be posted at the event for a low price."

Santa Claus will make an appearance on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The event runs on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
