Strong week for local United Way campaign

It was a good week for the Sarnia-Lambton United Way, but the campaign is still behind last year's pace.

Executive Director Dave Brown said they're up about 10 per cent over last week at 63 per cent, or just over $1.2 million.

"We still have about six weeks left to go so we are very hopeful that things will come together for us," said Brown. "But, we are lagging and we are continuing to make sure that all the campaigns are running as successfully as they can."

Brown said they're still accepting registrations for the annual Drewlo Stairclimb at 1285 Sandy Lane December 3.

Money raised will benefit 18 local agencies, which provide 36 programs and services.
