Drivers and mechanics with Waste Management in Lambton County have voted 91 per cent in favour of a new three-year contract.
The 15 employees, working out of the Petrolia yard, are represented by CLAC Local 519.
They cover Lambton County, as well as a large area up to Bayfield, Chatham and everywhere in between.
Union Representative Ryan Griffioen said he's very pleased about the deal.
"The 15 in the bargaining unit will receive an eight per cent increase to wages over the life of the deal, plus a one per cent signing bonus," said Griffioen. "Increases in the mandatory contribution from the employer to the pension fund were also approved, which brings the matching contributions up to nine per cent which is great."
The contract also includes higher safety and tool allowances, and increased benefits of premium funding.
Local 519 has represented the drivers in Lambton County for over 20 years.
They also represent Waste Management's landfill division in Lambton County, which is currently bargaining for a new collective agreement.
