United Way campaign surpasses $1M

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign is slightly behind last year's pace.

Executive Director Dave Brown said they've raised $1.02 million, or 54 per cent of their $1.9 million target.

He said with just six weeks left to go in the campaign, they're reaching out to previous donors.

"We just sent out a number of direct mail pieces," said Brown. "We're trying to get people to come to our website and donate online, and we've got a few other things that are coming up. That includes our stair climb which will take place on Giving Tuesday, December 3."

You can register for the annual Drewlo Stairclimb through the United Way's website.

Money raised will benefit 18 local agencies, which provide 36 programs and services.
