Lambton OPP crack down on impaired driving

Lambton OPP charged six motorists with impaired driving over the weekend.

Officers laid charges after initiating traffic stops in Lambton Shores, St. Clair Township and Point Edward.

In Plympton Wyoming, charges were laid after officers located a vehicle pulled onto the shoulder of Forest Road Friday night.

When Lambton OPP approached the driver to offer assistance, police allege it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage.

Open alcohol was located inside the vehicle and a 34-year-old from Kettle and Stony Point First Nation was arrested.

In Brooke-Alvinston, officers responded to a collision involving a deer around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Police said their investigation revealed there was no deer and the driver had allegedly driven off the road.

A 20-year-old from Dawn-Euphemia Township was charged.

All of the accused are scheduled to make appearances at Sarnia courthouse at a later date.
