Early November snow squalls expected

It's early November but snow squalls are expected off Lake Huron Thursday into Friday.

Environment Canada issued a snow squall watch Wednesday afternoon that includes northern and eastern Lambton County, as well as London and Middlesex County.

The weather agency said snow squalls are forecast to develop off central Lake Huron Thursday afternoon. Forecasters said the squalls are expected to shift southward into the area this evening and will be particularly intense tonight before slowly weakening through the day Friday.

Strong winds may accompany the squalls resulting in blowing snow at times and reduced visibility, making for difficult travel conditions at times.

Local snowfall accumulations in excess of 30 cm, or a foot, are possible in some areas by the time the snow squalls weaken later Friday.
