Sting hot streak continues in Owen Sound

The Sarnia Sting are on a roll.

In Owen Sound Saturday night the Sting beat the Attack 4-2 for their seventh win in the last eight games.

Ryan McGregor (4) scored for Sarnia at the 16:11 mark of the first period followed by a short-handed goal from Jamieson Rees (9) 93 seconds later.

The Attack's Matthew Philip potted a short-handed goal at 16:57 of the second period.

Sean Josling (14) scored the game winning goal at 6:43 of the third on the power play.

At 12:18 Sam Bitten (6) tallied the insurance goal.

Philip scored his second goal of the game with 42 seconds left in the game.

Sarnia goalie Ethan Langevin was busy, turning aside 40 of 42 shots, 19 of them in the first period.

"It's a tough barn to play in and I knew we had to be ready off the hop so I got dialled in pretty quick and that helped the rest of the game."

Langevin also said the team had to simplify their game.

"We knew coming into this arena that we had to simplify our game. There's not as much space for our players to use their creativity. They did a good job of that. We held them up in the neutral zone and just generated more chances and we got the win."

Owen Sound goalie Nick Chenard stopped 23 Sting shots.

The Sting are idle until Friday night when they host the Soo Greyhounds.
