Point Edward receives healthy cheque from OLG

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has issued second-quarter non-tax gaming revenue payments to communities hosting casinos across the province.

Pt. Edward is getting just over $657,000 for hosting Gateway's Starlight Casino.

Sarnia-Lambton Conservative MPP Bob Bailey said he is pleased.

"Revenues generated at local gaming sites contribute directly to a better quality of life for Ontarians," said Bailey. "Projects to improve local infrastructure like roads and public transit, as well as community programs and services, all benefit from OLG's tremendous partnerships with host municipalities."

Since April 2000, Point Edward has received more than $46.6 million in non-tax gaming revenue.
