Sting end Generals 9-game win streak in Oshawa

The visiting Sarnia Sting defeated Oshawa 9-5 ending the General's nine-game win streak to start the OHL season.

It was the Sting's second win of the season following a 5-1 victory in Barrie on Thursday.

The game was tied 4-4 Sarnia early in the second period before the Sting's offence exploded with five straight goals.

Sean Josling led the way for Sarnia with a five-point night on three goals and two assists.

Josling likes what he sees going down the road.

"It was nice getting our first win and then beating the undefeated Oshawa Generals. It's nice to see the boys are starting to get it going here. We've got guys coming back in the lineup and I think things are going to start rolling now."

Jamieson Rees had two goals, including a penalty shot, and added two assists.

Eric Hjorth, Joseph Mack, Ryan Roth and Theo Hill also scored for Sarnia.

Brett Neumann scored three times for Oshawa with singles going to Dawson McKinney and Ty Tullio.

Ethan Langevin had a big night in goal stopping 41 of 46 shots for the Sting while the tandem of Andrew MacClean and Zachary Paputsakis combined for 16 saves.
