Detective Constable Sam Sulaiman said the driver of the vehicle was arrested.

"Police observed a suspected firearm in plain view in the vehicle," said Sulaiman. "That led them to search the vehicle further, at which point they located five long guns."

Sulaiman said they're trying to find the owners of the firearms.

"The long guns consisted of shotguns and rifles and they're believed to be recently stolen during a break and enter," said Sulaiman.

Sulaiman said a machete, 8.21 grams of magic mushrooms with a street value of $80 and trace amounts of powdered fentanyl with a street value of $100 were also seized from the vehicle.

Brandon Little, 36, of Sarnia is charged with five counts each of possessing a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm while in a motor vehicle. He's also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and driving while under suspension.

Little was being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Anyone with information about a break and enter where firearms were stolen, is asked to call Detective Constable Mark David at 519-344-8861 ext. 6194.
