Sarnia-Lambton United Way update

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign is up nearly 10 per cent from last week.

Executive Director Dave Brown said they've now raised $665,000, or 35 per cent of the $1.9 million target.

He said this week is expected to be another big one for the campaign.

"This is NOVA kick-off week -- NOVA will be having five campaign kick-offs, one at each one of their sites every day this week. So we're really excited about the possibilities of this week and seeing our campaign take off a little bit more."

Brown said you can still pick up your tickets for the Locally Lambton Dinner, which goes October 19.

"There are still many available, but we have sold over half the tickets already. We can raise between $10,000 and $13,000 at the dinner, so it's a great deal for us, and it's a great opportunity for rural and urban Sarnia-Lambton to get together and raise money for the United Way."

The United Way helps fund 18 local agencies providing 36 community programs and services.
