Light Up the Night for Noelle marks seven years

The 7th annual Light Up the Night for Noelle is on Saturday night at Canatara Park.

Co-founder Nicole Paquette said this year they've issued a challenge to school educators to participate.

"We have a teacher or school staff thing that we're doing this year," said Paquette. "It's a competition to see how many from each school we can get registered and we have a trophy to the winning school this year."

She said there is a 5 kilometre walk/run and a 10 kilometre run.

"We would love to have 350 to 400 people," she said. "We close the park at 7 p.m and it's a fun event. I'm doing it with my son again this year, he's eight and a little dramatic running it but that's o.k."

Founded in memory of Noelle Paquette, Noelle’s Gift is committed to ensuring every student in Lambton County has the resources needed to thrive.

Since its inception the charity has raised over $1.5 million.
