United Way campaign heading into week three

The Sarnia-Lambton 2019 United Way campaign is hoping to keep up the momentum in the weeks ahead.

So far, $475,000 or 25 percent of the $1.9 million need has been raised through employee campaigns and mail-in donations.

United Way Executive Director Dave Brown says the next big fundraiser is the Locally Lambton Dinner at Lambton College on October 19.

"It's a little bit sooner this year than it was last year, but we're starting to sell tickets and arrange the food," said Brown. "This week we have lots of activities. The LCBO 'Give at the Till' campaign kicks off later this week, on Wednesday the Canadian Red Cross is having an annual United Way barbeque, INEOS Styrolution kicks off Thursday with a pizza lunch and to wrap up the week at St. Clair District Catholic School Board kicking off their employee campaign."

The United Way helps fund 18 local agencies providing 36 programs and services to the community.
