Accessibility Awards nomination deadline approaching

The city wants to know who you think goes above and beyond for those with disabilities.

The deadline for nominations for the annual Accessibility Awards is September 20, 2019.

Sarnia's Accessibility Coordinator Dale Mosley said the categories include Prelude To Excellence for large and small businesses, Exceptional Leadership in Customer Service and Creating Opportunities for an Accessible Community.

"We have a Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee and all nominations go to that committee," said Mosley. "That committee decides who gets what, based on the nomination, so people are asked in their nominations to be descriptive as to why people and businesses deserve the award."

Previous winners include Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mucho Burrito and Yvonne McInnes.
