'Big Squeeze' exceeds expectations

The first ever 'Big Squeeze' in support of the local Big Brothers Big Sisters branch on Wednesday, exceeded its organizers expectations.

Spokesperson Kaylen Burgess said 21 business, including all three Blackburn Radio stations, raised just over $6,700.

"The best lemonade was awarded to KKP here in Sarnia, and the most funds raised went to Shell in Corunna," said Burgess.

Burgess says Shell raise $1,002 for the campaign, $529 was raised here at Blackburn Radio.

"Our other runners up for the best tasting were two at the radio station, 99.9 The Fox FM and 103.9FM/1070AM CHOK, Shell, The Sarnia Journal and Huron Oaks Golf Course. The top other fundraisers were Bayview Chrysler Dodge, Kernels, Enbridge, KKP, Giresi's Pizza, The Sarnia Journal and Huron Oaks Golf Course."

All the money raised will benefit the different programs offered through the agency.
