Break and enter suspect crashes vehicle into ditch

An Enniskillen Township man is facing charges after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a ditch and then breaking into a nearby home.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Sunday at around 3 a.m., officers responded to a break and enter on Aberfeldy Line near Gould Road in the Oil Springs area. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle laying on its side in the north ditch and arrested the driver inside the nearby home.  When officers spoke with the driver, he allegedly showed signs that he had been drinking.

The driver was then taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Connor Cook, 24, of Enniskillen Township is now charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams, and unlawfully being in a dwelling. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
