A Sarnia murder case that began 16 weeks ago has been adjourned to later this month.

Matthew Gerard Theriault, 30, appeared briefly by video yet again Thursday morning at Sarnia courthouse.

He was remanded in custody until August 22 to allow further discussion between the Crown and defence counsel David Stoesser.

Theriault is charged in connection with a violent altercation between two men April 17 on Maxwell Street.

Jesse Mowat-Caudle, 26, was found lying on the ground with critical injuries outside a residence, and died in London hospital early the next morning.
