GreekFest returns to downtown Sarnia

Three days of Greek food, music and dancing kicks off Friday afternoon in downtown Sarnia.

It's the 13th annual GreekFest.

The event will be held in the municipal parking lot across from the Imperial Theatre beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.

Event Coordinator Tracy Hyde said the family fun event has new entertainment this year, over a dozen vendors and as always, great food.

"New this year we are having Gyro's available for the entire weekend," said Hyde. "We only offered them the one day last year but this year it's going to be the entire weekend. This year we are kind of going back to the basics and really focusing on the authentic and traditional Greek music and Greek food."

GreekFest continues Saturday from noon until 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m.

Admission to the festival is free, however, donations for St. Joseph's Hospice will be accepted.
