Boys home Father's Day tradition continues

The financially strapped Huron House Boy's Home is hoping for a large turnout for this year's Run, Walk, Skate, Bike at Mike Weir Park.

The Father's Day tradition features a  10k run, 5k run, a 5k walk as well as rollerblade and bike routes.  There's also a Junior Adrenaline Trail, free for kids four through 10 years old.

Executive Director Don Adam said the event begins at 7 a.m. Sunday, followed by a pancake breakfast.

"Bring your family, bring your father, it's Father's Day and $5 is pancakes and sausage and bagels and coffee," said Adam.

Money raised from the 33rd annual event will help support the Bright's Grove facility.

The home is licensed for 28 beds but currently gets government funding for just six.

You can register online at www.raceroster.com or at the Lambton Mall near Sport Check on Friday, June 14  from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 15  from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
