Police seek driver involved in crash with bicycle

Sarnia police are looking to speak to a driver involved in a collision with a bicycle on Finch Drive last Thursday night.

Police said on May 16 around 7 p.m. two females, 16 and 20 years old, were cycling southbound along the sidewalk. When they came to Fanshawe Drive, a vehicle making a left hand turn off Finch struck the 16-year-old, knocking her off her bicycle.

Police said the male driver stopped his car to help the girl and at the time she said she wasn't injured and everyone left the scene.

The next day, police said the girl woke up sore and required medical attention.

The male driver is described as being in his 40s, 6'0" tall, with a medium build, full grey beard and salt and pepper hair.

Police are asking the driver, or anyone who witnessed the crash, to contact Cst. Ron Szabo at 519-344-8861 ext. 6127.
