Saturday Borderfest act announced

Rock fans are being invited to “Come Sail Away” this summer at Bluewater Borderfest.

Dennis DeYoung and The Music of STYX will headline the Saturday, August 10 show at the Sarnia music festival, that’s being held in conjunction with the Tall Ships Celebration.

DeYoung joins other iconic 80s rockers at this year’s festival– Lou Gramm of Foreigner, Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger, and John Payne of Asia will perform in Sarnia’s Centennial Park August 11.

Organizer and Tourism Sarnia-Lambton Executive Director Mark Perrin said it won’t be long until the full lineup for the third annual Bluewater Borderfest is revealed.

Tickets for the event went on sale Thursday morning.

Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey announced Friday the provincial government is giving Borderfest $42,517.

It’s part of an investment of nearly $218,000 in three local events.

Victoria Playhouse Petrolia gets $156,200 for performances running until October 27, and $19,260 is being allocated to the South Western International Film Festival in November.
