Purple fentanyl, meth seized, two charged

Sarnia police seized purple fentanyl and methamphetamine in a traffic stop Thursday afternoon and charged two men with drug trafficking.

An officer stopped a vehicle just before 1:30 p.m. on Talfourd Street and noticed that the occupants seemed nervous and agitated.

When the passenger was asked to step out of the vehicle, two vials were seen on the seat, one containing a purple powder, and there was a hammer by the driver's seat.

Police say they seized 3.72 grams of purple fentanyl powder and 4.43 grams of methamphetamine with a total street value of $4,321.

Curtis Edward McBean, 30, of Sarnia is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with his recognizance.

The passenger, Norman Leroy Jackson, 43, of Forest faces two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Both were being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
