Pokemon to invade Sarnia library

Pokemon GO players are invited to catch 'em all at the Sarnia Library this Saturday.

Player Jocelyn Sawczuk from Team Valor in Sarnia is hosting a Pokemon GO event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sawczuk said all are welcome to attend.

"I'm hosting the master-league player versus player tournament, and it's no normal type, and no legendary," said Sawczuk. "We are going to do arts-and-crafts table for the King and Queen of Valor -- hopefully it's a little kid. So I want to make sure that we have an independent craft project so that they can make posters so people vote for them."

Pokemon GO sends players searching for digital creatures that pop up on smartphone screens as they move through real-world locations.

Sawczuk said if you've never played, you should give it a try.

"Pokemon GO promotes exercise and socialization," said Sawczuk. "It also helps people learn about local history and businesses that are in our community as well."

Sawczuk said registration for the event ends May 18 at 11 a.m.
